Argentina — Handcrafted Journeys

Not just a trip
to Argentina.
A way of living it.

Journeys through Argentina, designed for travelers who seek depth, context and a more meaningful way of experiencing the country

Begin Your Journey Every journey begins with a conversation.
The way you travel

How you travel
matters more than
where you go

We don't start by asking where you want to go. We start by understanding how you experience a place — and what kind of journey would actually mean something to you.

01
Life with locals
& everyday culture

Argentina is not a country you observe — it is one you enter. A neighbourhood club that has been the same families' living room for three generations. A market in Salta where the vendor explains every herb before selling you anything. A conversation that starts at a café counter and ends two hours later. The culture here is not in the museums. It is in the street, the plaza and the ordinary Tuesday afternoon.

02
Urban culture
& layered cities

Argentina's cities are not interchangeable. Buenos Aires carries the weight of European immigration and the contradictions of a capital that never stops reinventing itself. Córdoba has its own accent, its own humour and a university culture that shapes everything around it. Salta moves at a different rhythm entirely — closer to the Andes, closer to its indigenous roots, with a colonial centre and a food culture that belongs to nowhere else. Each city is a different argument about what it means to be Argentine.

03
Vast landscapes
& remote territories

From the salt flats of the Puna to the ancient gorges of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, the bone-dry steppe of Patagonia to the end of the world in Tierra del Fuego — Argentina's scale is humbling. These are not places to visit. They are places to stand inside and feel small, in the best possible way.

04
Nature in movement:
adventure with meaning

TWalking on the ancient ice of Perito Moreno Glacier as it shifts and cracks beneath you. Birdwatching by boat through the Iberá Wetlands, where over 350 species share the water with caimans and capybaras. White water rafting the Río Mendoza as it cuts through the Andes. Kayaking the Beagle Channel past sea lions and cormorants at the end of the world. In Argentina, movement is not a sport — it is a way of reading the land. Of understanding what shaped it and who still lives by it.

05
Silence, distance
& open horizons

Silence in Argentina takes different forms. On the Patagonian steppe it is wind, open sky and a horizon with nothing between you and it. In the Puna of Jujuy, at 4,000 metres above sea level, the air is thin, the light is brutal and the salt flats stretch until they become sky. In the Quebrada de Humahuaca, the colours of the rock change with every hour of daylight. These are places that don't perform for visitors. They exist at their own pace, waiting for those willing to meet them on their terms.

06
Food as culture,
not as attraction

In Argentina, the question is not where to eat — it is when, with whom and for how long. Lunch is never rushed. Dinner starts at nine. An asado is not a meal, it is a ritual that can last all afternoon and into the evening, built around fire, conversation and an unhurried sense of time. From the empanadas of Salta — filled with slow-cooked meat, cumin and paprika — to a Malbec poured at a family bodega in Mendoza, food here is the main event, not the backdrop. Argentines plan around it. So do we.

These are not destinations or activities to choose from. They are different ways of inhabiting a place.

Argentina — from the inside
"Not a trip you take.
A place you begin to understand."

The landscapes are extraordinary. But most travelers who fall in love with Argentina will tell you it wasn't the mountains or the glaciers that got them. It was the people.

How we design your journey

Designed,
not packaged

"Not a catalogue. Someone who thinks carefully on your behalf."

Every journey starts before you travel. It starts with a conversation and with someone willing to make decisions on your behalf.

01 Conversation first

Every journey begins with a real conversation. We listen before we design anything. What you value, how you move through a place, what you want to feel — that shapes everything that follows

02 Curated, not catalogued

Not everything beautiful belongs in your trip. Not everything iconic deserves your time. This is about choosing what actually makes sense for you — and leaving out what doesn't.

03 Fewer, better experiences

Journeys designed with space and rhythm. Less rushing. More presence. Time to actually be where you are — not just to pass through it.

04 Chosen for identity, not brand

Places, lodges and people are selected for who they are — not for how famous they are, or what commission they offer. Every recommendation is made by criterion, not by catalogue.

05 Private & flexible by design

No fixed routes. No rigid schedules. No group departures. Your journey adapts to you — your pace, your mood, your time — not the other way around.

06 Small by design, intentional by choice

We design a limited number of journeys each year — so each one receives real attention and care. This is not a volume business. It is a craft.

Start with a conversation
No commitment. No pressure. Just a conversation.
Where would you begin?

Argentina,
region by region

Argentina stretches almost five thousand kilometres from north to south. It is not one country — it is several, layered on top of each other. European cities and ancient indigenous gorges. Glaciers and salt flats. Wine country and the end of the world. Each region is a different argument about what Argentina is, and each one rewards a different kind of traveler.

We cover the regions we know best — and we keep adding. If you have something specific in mind that you don't see yet, that is exactly the kind of conversation we want to have.

Ancient gorges, high-altitude salt flats and a food culture that predates the country itself. The least visited and most layered part of Argentina.

Wine country at altitude, with the Andes as backdrop. Long lunches, family bodegas and some of the highest vineyards in the world.

Who we are

Twenty years in Argentina.
One reason to do it
differently.

Paralelo 54 was born from a simple observation: Argentina is one of the most extraordinary countries in the world to travel through — and one of the least well served by the industry that surrounds it.

Cynthia grew up in Argentina and moved to Australia in 2023. That distance gave her something valuable: the ability to see her own country through the eyes of an international traveler. , and to understand exactly what gets lost in translation when Argentina is sold the way it usually is. She works directly with every client from the first conversation to the final detail, bridging two worlds that don't often meet: deep local expertise and a genuine understanding of how English-speaking travelers think and travel.

Behind every journey, Guillermo and Celeste — partners in life and in work — bring twenty years of on-the-ground experience in Argentina. Guillermo has spent those years building relationships across every region of the country: the right lodges, the right guides, the right people. Celeste keeps every journey running with the kind of operational care that only comes from genuinely understanding what is at stake when someone invests their time and money in a place they don't yet know.

Paralelo 54 is not a new idea. It is a project we have been building toward for a long time — now finally ready to offer what we always believed Argentina deserved: journeys designed with real knowledge, real care and no shortcuts.

"We are not built for volume. We are built for the kind of travel that stays with you."

Why people come to us

Sometimes, the question
isn't where to go.
It's how.

"They want someone to think carefully on their behalf. Not more options — the right ones."

Sometimes, it is because they don't want to spend weeks comparing places, hotels and routes, only to end up unsure.

Sometimes, it is because they have limited time and don't want to waste it moving too fast, choosing badly, or experiencing Argentina in the same way everyone else does.

And often, it is because they are not looking for a trip that simply covers the highlights. They are looking for something with more depth — a way of experiencing Argentina that feels considered, human and true to what the country actually is.

They want someone to think carefully on their behalf. Someone who can listen, filter and design with intention. Not to give them more options, but to help them arrive at the right ones.

Because a meaningful journey is rarely built by adding more. It is built by choosing well.
